Dr. Dorothy Adamson Holley, “Mama Dot,” is a Developmental Psychologist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who integrates psychology and spirituality in clinical practice. As a private practitioner, she specializes in working with clients who have not responded well to traditional treatment. Dr. Adamson Holley has shared her clinical expertise with practitioners across many clinical settings. Her passion for African culture and its continuity in the United States led to an enthusiastic study of African dance and drum, and she has performed locally, nationally, and internationally. Mama Dot is the co-founder of Nyame Nti Cultural Healing Arts Therapy, Inc. (N-CHAT), a 501c3 nonprofit organization that integrates the fields of mental health and the arts to promote healing. Mama Dot currently teaches African dance, drum, and other healing art forms to disadvantaged youth and to other populations. Mama Dot is a grant recipient of Maryland Public Television’s Campaign for Love and Forgiveness (2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010), a 2012 recipient of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation Folk Arts Outreach Grant, and the recipient of the 2007 Maryland Traditions Apprenticeship Award from the Maryland State Arts Council.

Deirdre Osiomwan, “Mama Dee,” is a Registered Nurse who has over 25 years of experience in health care. Mama Dee has a passion for helping people to reach their fullest potential, and she believes that this is best accomplished through the development of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Mama Dee has studied praise dance, African dance, and African drum. In addition to local teaching and performances, Mama Dee has traveled nationally and internationally, performing and sharing her artistic gifts with others.
